Cousiño Macul Vineyard, Concha y Toro Vineyard and Maipo Valley Tour
En el Valle del Maipo se encuentran la Viña Cousiño Macul, ubicada en los faldeos de la Cordillera de los Andes, y cuyos propietarios son la familia Cousiño desde 1856 y la Viña Concha y Toro, una de las más grandes productoras y exportadoras de vino de nuestro país. La visita incluye sus instalaciones y una explicación de los procesos de elaboración y embotellado de afamados vinos, hoy exportados a todo el mundo, luego se continuará hacia la localidad de Pirque.
Cousiño Macul:
The meeting point is at the Winery Shop, where you will be welcomed by a bilingual guide who will take you through the centenary cellars, while tells you about the history of the Cousiño family and the winery.
You will also learn about the winemaking process and perceive the huge contrast among the old equipment and machines used in the XIX Century and the most advanced technology from nowadays, in the Lota cellar, our icon wine created to commemorate the Cousiño Macul 150 anniversary.
Next, you will be able to go back in time, when descending to one of the oldest and finest Chilean wine cellar, built in 1872 by French architects. There, the Cousiño family keeps its private collection, with bottles that go as far as 1927.
Finally, the visit ends in the same Shop, were an Antiguas Reservas wine will be offered.
Concha y Toro:
The visit will start in Don Melchor square, where your guide will invite to enjoy a panoramic view of the Pirque vineyard, while tasting a glass of its world class wine with its unique flavors and bouquet.
Glass in hand, going back in time ,you will stroll through the winery`s century old yard.. You will also visit the Pirque´s House, the residence of the Concha y Toro family, where 100 years ago it was born, what is today Chile´s largest wine company.
In Pirque´s vineyard you will learn about the development of the grapes , and basic enolgy which are responsible of a top quality product.
Your glass will fe refilled at will with our best Cabernet Sauvignon wines.
